What I didn't like about the sound of the Savage was that it reminded me of an industrial sewing machine. One hole only made it a louder buzzing. Two holes gave it a deeper resonance. With 4 holes, it has a crackle to it. It is audible when idling next to my Sportster. It does not have a deep, throaty sound, but I find it pleasant. It doesn't attract any more attention than the Harley. The only unpleasant side effect is that when it backfires, it sounds like a hunting rifle, and THAT gets some looks!! If I had it to do over again, I would do it sooner than I did. When the wife and I ride together, the Sporty is still louder, but the Savage gets noticed, and favourably at that.
